Expo SDK 57 brings React Native 0.86 in a focused release

Expo SDK 57 is a smaller, non-breaking release designed to test a new, lighter SDK release cadence between major feature updates.

Its primary update is bumping the underlying React Native version to 0.86, while keeping React 19.2 unchanged from SDK 56. It also includes improvements for edge-to-edge support on Android, dark mode emulation in React Native DevTools, and New Architecture rendering fixes.

To upgrade an existing project:

npx expo install expo@^57.0.0
npx expo install --fix
